Gizmodo recently posted an article about the guys at Fast Company who visited the National Cash Register's innovation center to take a peek at the future of kiosks, ATMs and self-service machines.
The system relies on NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled mobile phones which have a small chip inside that exchanges small amounts of data wirelessly between the user and the receiver (i.e ATM machine, hotel) to process things like bookings and withdrawals. This feature also utilizes Microsoft Surface to carry out information filling.
