By Benedict WeeCapcom announced yesterday that the mobile version of their popular survival horror game will be released for iPhones in Japan via the App Store at the end of the month with the rest of the world to follow soon.
Resident Evil 4 marked a significant change in the RE series when they introduced an over-the-shoulder shooting style gameplay, a vast improvement to its previous "tank controls" interface. This gave the series a new lease of life and was highly acclaimed by both gamers and critics to the point that it spawned Playstation 2 and Wii iterations in addition to the original GameCube version. The new Resident Evil 5 game for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 also uses the same game controls.
A video of Resident Evil 4 on the iPhone was leaked earlier in the week.
