Windows Mobile 6.5 Phones Out October 6th, But Not For New Zealand

By Benedict Wee

Microsoft has announced over at the Windows Mobile Blog that the first phones to run the finger-friendly mobile OS will be available in just over a month.

Windows Mobile 6.5 will come with improved email/text/calendar notifications and updates, the latest version of Internet Explorer Mobile and My Phone: a free service which will allow users to protect, edit and configure the data stored in their smartphones remotely from a web browser. The mobile OS will also come with Windows Marketplace which will allow users to download applications for their phone just like the iPhone and Android mobiles do.

Unfortunately we won't be able to get in on all the Windows Phone action as the list of mobile operators in the Asia Pacific region currently only include Japan, Korea and Australia.
