Final Fantasy XIII NZ release somewhere in 2010 (hopefully)

By Benedict Wee

So when does Square Enix's highly anticipated RPG franchise hit Europe (and thereby New Zealand)? It took Final Fantasy XII a full year to hit the PAL nations when it was released in Japan, by then most of the world had already played it and were posting their impressions as well as spoilers online. Do we have an arduous wait ahead for us?

According to FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama, the European version of the game is targeting a 2010 release. That is however, just a target and we know how well SE keeps to their targets when it comes to the core Final Fantasy games (hint: they miss it entirely).

Still, hope springs eternal. Maybe PS3 owners here might be able to import a US copy since games are not usually region locked. I know I wouldn't mind forking over extra kiwi dollars to get my FF fix one year early.
