By Benedict WeeTelecom has announced their new smartphone; the HTC S523 (called HTC Snap in the US) is available in New Zealand. It's your basic BlackBerry-esque phone with the standard bells and whistles (Wifi, 3G, 2.0MP camera, microSD card slot) running Windows Mobile 6.1. Skype 3.0 should complement this phone nicely.
The price without a contract? NZ$728.95 (with SIM card). Pretty good for an entry-level smartphone if you're on the Telecom network. I'm hoping the iPhone 3GS will be available to them soon though.
