Acer Entering Application Store Territory

By Benedict Wee

I would understand why phone manufactures would jump on the mobile application bandwagon like Nokia and Sony Ericsson but what happens when a computer maker wants to do the same? Acer has announced that they'll be setting up an application store for its new line of smartphones and will compete with the likes of Apple, Google and Microsoft.

I'm confused. Didn't they announced awhile ago that they were making their own Android phone? Won't their store be cannibalizing itself?

Besides the Big 3, they'll also be competing with other mobile manufacturer's application stores like Nokia and Sony Ericsson.

It's a bit too crowded and you're way too late Acer, best you just stick to developing hardware.
